Vilniaus Vandenys supplies drinking water to Vilnius city, Šalčininkai, Švenčionys and Vilnius regions, supplies industrial water to the companies of Vilnius, provides waste water collection and treatment in the City of Vilnius, Šalčininkai, Švenčionys and Vilnius regions. It is the biggest water supply company in Lithuania, covering the territory of several hundred square kilometres. Consumers are supplied only with underground water from deep wells.
Vilniaus Vandenys works according to the requirements of the standards LST EN ISO 14001: 2005 and LST EN ISO 9001: 2001.
Half a million of consumers use centralised cold water-supply and sewage collection systems. The average consumption of water by one inhabitant in a household makes about 91 l per day. The total amount of the water supplied is 37.3 mill. m³/year.
In 2005, Vilniaus Vandenys sold about 26.5 mill.m³ of drinking water. The Company’s profit for water supply and sewage collection and treatment made 1.2 mill. LTL before tax.
