Water supply system of the Company consists of 33 wellfields with 278 deep wells, 254 wells are in Vilnius City. The City of Vilnius is divided into 9 water supply zones. For a continuous and reliable water supply, Vilniaus Vandenys operates 45 water reservoirs and 1379 km of water supply pipelines, among these - 1314 km in Vilnius City. Diameters of the pipes vary from 50 to 1000 mm. 553.3 thous. of consumers employ centralized water-supply systems (among these – 96% – in Vilnius City). Now the average water supply to the centralized system makes 102.2 thous. m³/d. In 2005, 740 faults in the networks were removed, 468 pcs. of valves and accessories were replaced with the new ones.

WATER SUPPLY ZONES

Vilniaus Vandenys makes continuous improvements of a water supply system: periodical diagnostics, detection of invisible water leakages, replacement of valves and accessories which are not good for maintenance and renovation of pipelines. In 2005, the total length of the renovated water-supply pipelines and mains made 18.5 km.
