REHABILITATION AND EXTENSION OF WATER AND SEWAGE COLLECTION SYSTEMS IN VILNIUS

Financing of the project:

The implementation of the project started in 2000 and was fully completed in 2008. The project covered rehabilitation of water supply and sewage networks (98,2 km), reconstruction of 11 waste water pumping stations, construction of 15 pumping stations and 78,7 km of new water supply and sewage collection networks.

Lot 1 "Rehabilitation of existing drinking water pipelines by cement mortar lining". The contract value: EUR 11 790 811,14, signed in October, 2004. The Contractor: "Pipeliners Vilnius", Germany. Rehabilitation of 49,4 km water supply networks was completed in December, 2007.

Lot 2 "Rehabilitation of existing drinking water pipelines by using PE pipe and other reinforcement methods, and rehabilitation of sewage pipelines". The contract value: EUR 11 775 902,98, signed in January, 2004. The contractor: Lithuanian-German consorcium "Meyer & John" and UAB "Grundolita". The works are completed. 23,9 km of water supply pipelenes were renovated by inserting PE pipe and using other reinforcement methods. The renovation of 8,9 km sewage pipelines was carried out. All the work was perfomed by using trenchless technology, except the sewer in Upės street, where the biggest part was renovated by unearthing.

Lot 3 "Rehabilitation/replacement of present drinking water supply pipelines in technology channels". The Contractor: UAB "Kamesta"; the contract value EUR 1 060 000,0; the contract signed in September, 2002. The works were completed in March, 2004. 7 km of water supply pipelines were renovated in the technology channels. Renovation according to diameters (diameter - lengths) is as follows: 32 mm- 2,0 m, 63 mm – 495,0 m, 125 mm – 927,0 m, 180 mm – 2380,0 m, 225 mm – 3201,0 m; totally: 7015 m. 102,37 % of works were implemented for the same contract amount.

Lot 4 "Refurbishment of 11 wastewater pumping stations". The Contractor: UAB "Siemens"; the contract value EUR 4 766 583,66; duration of the contract: November, 2003 - November, 2005. The project covered the renovation of the Žirmūnai, Studentai, N.Vilnia, � eškinė, Valakampiai, Pluoštas, Paneriai, Geologai, Kirtimai, Pagiriai, Vaidotai waste water pumping stations.

Lot 5 "Construction of drinking water supply and sewage collection mains and pumping station in Gineitiškės and construction of wastewater pumping station in Liepkalnis street". The Contractor: UAB "Kamesta"; the contract value is EUR 880 600,00; duration of the contract November, 2002 - November, 2004. The project comprised the construction of two waste water pumping stations (at Liepkalnis and Gineitiškės street) and construction of 3,1 km sewage and 1,66 km water supply networks.

In the beginning the first service contract was signed with "Safege Consulting Engineers" at the beginning, and in 2004, the contract was signed with UAB "Baltijos konsultacinė grupė" for the technical supervision for the remaining part of the project implementation. According to the contract the consultant supports UAB "Vilniaus vandenys" Investment departament and employees in charge with technical supervision of all the contracts.

The second service contract "Design works for water supply and sewage networks in Gineitiškės, Tarandė, Bajorai, Balsiai and Riešė" was signed on November 25, 2002. The contract value amounts to EUR 653589,08. Due to works being behind the schedule the contract was renewed two times. However, the works remain still uncompleted. 

Lot 8 „Water supply in the Old Town: the renovation of water mains from the Pagiriai wellfield to the Kirtimai reservoir“. The Contract was signed in November, 2006 and it includes the renovation of 9 km of water mains connecting Pagiriai water supply station with Kirtimai water reservoir. The project was completed in 2008.

Lot 9 „Construction of water supply and sewage networks in Gineitiškės“. The Contract was signed on May 31, 2005; the contract value amounts to EUR 1781654,9; the contractor: UAB „Kamesta“. The project involved the construction of 6,2 km of water supply networks and 6,6 km of sewage networks and the construction of a water pumping station, as well as four waste water pumping stations. The works were completed in May, 2007.

Lot 10 „Construction of water supply and sewage mains in Tarandė“. The contract was signed with ABF "Viti" on June 08, 2007. The construction of 60 km of water supply and sewage networks and 11 pumping stations will be completed in 2,5 years.  

Lot 11 „Construction of water supply and sewage networks and mains in Bajorai“. The contract was signed in November, 2006. The duration of the project - 18 months. The project involves the construction of 8.2 km water supply and 8.8 km sewage networks and renovation of 4.1 km water supply networks. It will enable the connection of 3200 residents to the centralised networks. The contract is financed from the Cohesion Funds under the project "The Neris River Basin Investment Scheme, Ist Stage".

Lot 12 „Construction of water supply and sewage networks and mains in Riešė“. The Contract was signed on October 13, 2005; the contract value: EUR 10081667,28; the Contractor: UAB „Grundolita“. The works which cover the construction of 63 km water supply and sewage networks and 8 waste water pumping stations were completed in December, 2007.

Lot 13 "Construction of water supply and sewage networks and mains in Balsiai". The contract was signed on December 21, 2007. The project covers the construction of 40 km water supply and sewage networks and 7 pumping stations.
